Raising the first wall of the underwater room

Raising the first wall of the underwater room

Less than 1 minute Reading TIme: Minutes

We never have enough heavy lifting at the factory and that’s an excellent thing because for the actual part of raising the wall of the underwater room, a delicate operation has to be done.

The telehandler clamps are securely grabbing the heavy steel sheet to lift it into place.
It’s a centimeter-by-centimeter operation as we need to precisely lift the wall to match with the markings we previously put on the floor.

But once the lifting process is done, it is way easier for our workers to move the wall where it is supposed to be as, almost magically (but really “almost”) the telehandler crane helped us to beat gravity.

The wall section is 2 meter tall right now, but another 1 meter section will be added on top of it. Once in position, the welding can be done and move on to the next wall section.

Stay tuned for the next chapter of the SeaPod underwater room wall installation!
