There have been some questions about the engineering room. Are there any developments down there?

This area is essentially where all the magic happens.

Under our main living area on the main floor, there’s a circular, half-moon-shaped space beneath the pod, and that’s where we house our engineering room. This room is the powerhouse of the SeaPod, containing all the essential electronics, batteries, water tanks, and more.

The stairs from the bedroom lead down into the engineering room, which has several shelves that we use for storage. Keeping this space organized and tidy is an evolving ‘science’. The first SeaPod was a bit chaotic, but we’ve made significant improvements in design and layout with each iteration.

In this room, you’ll find our battery banks, which are crucial for storing the energy we generate. We also have multiple water tanks for storing fresh, drinkable water, as well as tanks for rainwater harvesting. The rainwater goes through several processing steps to become drinkable. Currently, you can’t drink the water straight from the taps in this pod, but we’re working on a comprehensive purification system that will filter out everything harmful and add back healthy minerals. This will ensure the water not only tastes great but also supports our health.

Additionally, we’re considering an optional hydrogen system to enhance the drinking water. Studies suggest hydrogen-infused water offers numerous health benefits. As someone who’s passionate about longevity and having the best quality water, this is a feature I’m very excited about.

Our air conditioning units in the engineering room use saltwater as a coolant, which is a fantastic, eco-friendly alternative to toxic coolants. This heat exchanger system saves a lot of power and aligns with our sustainability goals.

We’ve also allocated space for boxes and other storage needs, ensuring everything has its place. It’s a simple yet effective setup that took some time and effort to organize and structure. We’re constantly refining it, adding more technology and making it more user-friendly. Every day, our engineering room gets closer to perfection, paving the way for mass production.
